North Carolina Sorosis (NCS) is a community service club that is committed to promoting volunteerism, improving our community, and fostering new friendships. North Carolina Sorosis is proud of its many contributions to our community and is dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.

Our Club is comprised of women from Wilmington and the surrounding area. We are two groups, the Day and Night Departments, bound together for volunteer service as one club. Opportunities for community involvement are organized within five programs related to Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement & Outreach, Education & Libraries, Environment, and Health & Wellness.

In 1938, NCS organized North Carolina Junior Sorosis (NCJS), for women between the ages of 18 and 45. Our club is an affiliate organization of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the World’s largest and oldest international volunteer service organizations of women. When you become a member of a club you become a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in not only your state but nationally and internationally.
